Why Chipotle Is My Favorite Restaurant

15 Feb

Everyone loves a good meal, especially college students. When dining on a budget, students look for restaurants that are worth the money.

As a busy college student, I don’t have many options when it comes to food. When bombarded with homework, classes, and work, I don’t have time to go out to eat. The choices are the school cafeteria and pizza delivery. But when I do have a chance, I find myself in the same place: Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Chipotle is the perfect restaurant for students like myself for several reasons. Chipotle has a mission of making “food with integrity,” which means they only serve “the very best ingredients raised with respect for the animals, the environment, and the farmers”. Their food is fresh, healthy, and all-natural. They offer a plethora of ingredients to add to your meal  including black and pinto beans, different types of beans, white and brown rice, salsas, sour cream, cheeses, and more. Anyone can create his or her perfect meal.

I really like the set up of the restaurant. The service line was designed so that you can see your food being prepared in every step of the process. You can tell the server how much lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, rice, and other ingredients you want in your customized burrito or salad. You can have your order exactly how you like it. There is no controversy surrounding the company’s menu items like many otherfast food restaurants are facing.

Chipotle really appeals to students like myself because of the cost. The average price for a burrito is about $7. Students love this because they don’t have to pay a lot for a good meal. The restaurant chain also frequently offer coupons and specials that lower the price of the food even more. On Halloween, the company gives out “$2 boo-ritos” to customers who dress as their favorite farm animal. Last year, I dressed up as a farmer to receive my discounted burrito.

I love Chipotle because it’s a great alternative to the boring cafeteria food and unhealthy delivery options and I can make a customized meal for myself under $10. To find the nearest Chipotle, you can visit its website.

Music: “E.T.” by Katy Perry ft. Kanye West

Pop Star + Controversial Rapper = Musical Genius!

Katy Perry has done it again. Her new cd, Teenage Dream, continues to make hit after hit. her new single E.T. featuring Kanye West is no exception. I’ve been playing it over and over on my iTunes since I downloaded it.

The catchy hook/chorus in combination with Mr. West’s rap leads the song to the top of the charts hitting #8 in its fourth week. I can just imagine that the video will be out of this world. There is no doubt that this or another Perry song will be one of the greatest of the summer.

Music: “Rhythm of Love” by The Plain White T’s

10 Mar

After listening to this song all over the radio and movie trailers, I had to find the name of it. Little did I know, it’s made by one of my favorite bands.

The Rhythm of Love by the Plain White T’s was released in late 2010 as the first single for their upcoming album Wonder Years of the Younger. I can’t wait. I loved the past two cds. This one surely should not disappoint.

Music:Bruno Mars ft. Damien Marley “Liquor Store Blues”

5 Mar

After the All of the Lights video, I don’t think the world is ready for any more videos that made us feel like we were under the influence.

Bruno Mars proved me correct.

In his new video for “Liquor Store Blues”, he sings the lyrics to the song as red, yellow, and green smoke surrounds him. As the video progresses, you start to see double, hazy vision, and just over all crazy side effects.

I love Bruno Mars and I know that this has to do with his abusive drug habit but it was too much. How do you feel about it?

Does anybody else find it ironic that the video premiered around the same time that he plead guilty on his drug charges he obtained in September of 2010.

Music: ADELE IS BACK

5 Mar

Adele is back with a brand new, highly anticipated album and I am in LOVE!

She debuted her sophomore album, 21, overseas in late January and on February 22 in the US.

She’s such a soulful singer with such drive and passion that makes you want to continue listening to her stories. She named the cd similarly to her debut album 19. On her blog she commented on her then upcoming cd.

“It’s different from “19”, it’s about the same things but in a different light,” said Adele. “I deal with things differently now. I’m more patient, more honest, more forgiving and more aware of my own flaws, habits and principles. Something that comes with age I think. So fittingly this record is called “21”.

“The whole reason I called my first album “19” was about cataloging what happened to me then and who I was then, like a photo album you see the progression and changes in a person throughout the years.”

I loved the first album and the second is even better. This upcoming artist has a lot of potential. I can’t wait to see what is in store for her in the future.

Free Ihop and Chipotle!!!

5 Mar

This was possibly the greatest week of all time for a college student such as myself.

On March 1, Ihop teamed up with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to create National Pancake Day Celebration. Customers who went to Ihop from 7am-10pm would receive a short stack of pancakes on the house; The International House that is.

In return for the free pancakes, Ihop hoped to raise awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network and for customers to donate to the cause.

People went to different Ihop’s in the area to receive multiple stacks of free cakes. Personally, I don’t really like pancakes. I prefer waffles. But who is going to turn down free food? Not I.

When your bill comes out to $2.11 for a full meal, it is a good day.

It couldn’t get any better when Chipotle announced through it’s Facebook of their new promotion. Get this…Buy One, Get One Free Chiptole. How awesome is that?

Fans of the Facebook page would watch a 90 second video of an upcoming show America’s Next Great Restaurant. In return, Chipotle provided the viewer with a coupon.

This idea was BRILLIANT! Not only does the show get a lot of exposure through this marketing campaign but Chipotle receives ridiculous amount of exposure to its website and an increase in sales through their restaurants.
